Engagement Party pics are here!

I finally got around to posting these things. I was planning to do some kind of collage but have no idea how to so I posted these the old fashion way through Picasa.

Anyway, I'll have to warn you guys. To those who have known me for quiet sometime now would know that I am not girly. I am very much a tomboy and I think I'll be staying this way until the day I die. Unfortunately, certain things in my life like a bloody engagement and being so in love tend to change my perspective... a bit.

Get ready to see some Jennie girly pics... shudder...

This is definitely not going to be a regular occurence!

Enjoy the pictures!

Video of the week 9...

This week's video is by Australia's own Ben Lee. Not more than a week ago, Ben won three awards from the ARIAS. He won Best Independent Release for his album "Awake is the New Sleep", Best Male Artist, and the Single of the Year. The song that won that particular award is called "Catch My Disease". It's fun, it's addictive, and it's catchy!

Catch My Disease

My head is a box full of nothing
and that's the way I like it
My garden's a secret compartment
and that's the way I like it
and that's the way I like it
Your body's a dream that turns violent
and that's the way I like it
and that's the way I like it
The winter is long in the city
and that's the way I like it

So please
baby please
Open your heart
Catch my disease

I was backstage in Pomona
and that's the way I like it
She drank beer with coca-cola
and that's the way I like it
and that's the way I like it
She told me about the winds from Santa Anna
and that's the way I like it
and that's the way I like it
She told me she loved me like fireworks
and that's the way I like it

So please
baby please
Open your eyes
Catch my disease

So please (PLEASE!)
baby please
Come on
Catch my disease
Catch it

Na na na na na na na na na

They play Good Charlotte on the radio
and that's the way I like it
They play Sleepy Jackson on the radio
and that's the way I like it
and that's the way I like it
I hear Beyonce on the radio
and that's the way I like it
cos that's the way I like it
and they play me on the radio (whoo!)
and that's the way I like it

So please
baby please
Open your heart
and catch my disease
So please
baby please
Come on
Catch my disease
(catch my disease)
nanananananananana
(catch my disease)
nanananananananana
(catch my disease)
nanananananananana
(catch my disease)

Now I can relax...

Yes, everything is done.

The engagement party went without a hitch. It was a booming success and everybody seemed to have enjoyed themselves. For one thing, everybody kept on asking me how I found the venue. Click here to check it out.

I'll be posting the pics soon.

Also, I had my last assignment/presentation completed this past Tuesday. This means that school is over for the next 3 or so months before I go back again! Yay!

I have every intention of enjoying my "holiday" from school.

For one thing, catch up with work >sigh<...

Oh, Arnie and I have also arranged to go to the Gold Coast and spend a week there in February. I've got the flights and the hotel room all booked. It's a very popular tourist spot especially during the summer so booking very early for stuff is absolutely essential.

I can't wait!

Summer is going to be here soon and I better hit the gym twice as hard. No point of going to the beach if I can't wear a bikini, 'ey? Hahaha!

Engagement pictures will be posted as soon as I get around to it >wink<

Huzzah! Exams are over!

I had my final exams for Document Management 2 yesterday so I haven't been able to update as regularly as I wanted. Sorry...

Well, hurray for me! Exams are finished! Two gruelling hours done!

Now, I have one assignment comprising of a working flat file database to hand in on the day before the engagement party and an end-user training program on the Tuesday after.

So much for celebrating... sigh...

Confessions of a shopaholic part 3 - Engagement Party countdown

Now I'm in deep shit! My promise of not buying anything for at least a whole month was thrown out of the window by my maniacal spree yesterday in Chadstone, the biggest shopping mall in the Southern Hemisphere. I have spent an astounding $1,200 dollars on a full outfit - cami, skirt, bag, belt, scarf, suede shoes, and hair clip - from one of the best Australian designers, Alannah Hill.

Now, people who have known me all my life would know that they will NEVER see me in anything girly/flowery/flowy. This entire outfit screams everything that I would never wear! Too girly, too flowery, too flowy. Alannah Hill is known for her very feminine clothing and accessories. The thing that I most love about her clothes is the whole vintage feel and look that you get from her styles. The materials and details that she puts into her designs are magic!

Gosh, this whole engagement thing has turned me into, gasp, a girl! Yikes!

Arnie has purchased his outfit as well - a blue-gray suit, a Kenneth Cole button down shirt and a pair of Steve Madden alligator print leather shoes. He will look absolutely smashing that night!

I am expecting friends and workmates alike to be shocked by my look that night. Be assured that I will be posting pictures of the night.

World's most livable city no more...

In light of recent events and the Australian Prime Minister's never ending attempt to kiss George "Dubya" Bush's soggy old arse, Melbourne has lost its number one rank in the Economist Intelligence Unit survey as the "world's most livable city".

After three years of being on the top spot, Vancouver now has the coveted spot while Melbourne dipped to second place... which is not at all bad.

BUT, what really peeved me is the fact that we shouldn't have lost our spot in the first place. If PM John Howard would stop sending troops to Iraq and constantly giving support to "stupidity-personified" Bush, we wouldn't have been made a terrorist target in the first place!

Grrrrr....

So, should I now change my title of my blog to "My Life In Melbourne - Around and about in the world's second best city because of idiot Prime Minister who got us into such a shitty situation where everyone is scared because we could be bombed any day now?"

Sigh...
