MLIM turns one...

Time flies fast when you're having fun. My blog turns one today and so many things have happened to me, the people around me, and the world in general.

Here's a recap of what happened in the year that past.

September 2005
Got engaged! That post about "when is sex good" that started a whole barrage of crappy comments by a certain flooder who didn't know how to read (actually interpreted my reader's comments as my own ideas) let alone construct sentences correctly; tags; shopaholic series; bessy visited!

October 2005
Engagement party pics; completed my first year of post grad studies

November 2005
Got my Toshiba laptop; Things I have learned about the opposite sex - dig that comment by one idiot whom, for some reason, got the impression that "I've tasted every single man there is" - HA! Same person also concluded that I was the one who mentioned liking "monkey style sex" when, in fact, it was a comment posted by good friend Jayce (look at the trouble you brought upon me, Jayce - JOKE! hahaha!) - so many idiots out there who don't know how to read and interpret the things they have read

December 2005
Ran for charity; feeling sad about not spending another Christmas in Manila; HP on audio; Same flooder started shitting me about Migs being a better match for me than Arnie, proceeded to say that they're "psychics" or something, also called me a "slut" in my own blog, became very vigilant against shit readers; HP and the Goblet of Fire on screen;

January 2005
Changed my blog's appearance; flooder was back and posted shit stuff on my shoutbox - just deleted it all and laughed at the person for being pathetic; Australian open; Year of the dog; quarter-life crisis; the answer to the ultimate question; tags; more about the guide; New year's resolutions

March 2005
Back to school;

Thanks to all the people who have been reading my blog and to the friends that I have made and have reconnected with because of this blog. It is what makes this exercise worth its while. I know that there are people out there who may not agree with my opinions and point of view on certain things, but I would much rather that we discuss it in a more adult and educated manner rather than resorting to childish name calling. I respect everyone's opinions, so please give me the courtesy and respect mine.

A special mention goes out to the following people:

Jayce - I love reading your posts, it's part of my everyday ritual. Your intelligent rants and honest musings inspire me to do the same.

Kiko - It was so nice to reconnect with you again. I like the fact that you seem to appreciate my honesty and not judge me for it. Cheers!

Jaz - Your sassiness and biatchiness is something that I admire about you. Small but terrible! How refreshing!

Galenlondeien - Thanks for your regular visits to my blog. In you I found a fellow HP fanatic!

Vayie - Your honesty, vulnerability, and strength shows in your writings. I truly enjoy your blog and am glad that you decided to keep blogging. Here's to many more years of blogging!

eLf - My music guru. Your passion and love for everything New Wave is so contagious. I wish you all the best in the world - you deserve it!

Here's heaps of sugary sweets going out to you! Cheers!

Now to celebrate this blog's anniversary, I have decided to give it a new home. Yes, in a week or so this link will no longer exist and will be transferred to a different host. I really wanted to finalise my "weeding out the idiots" project. I don't feel like police-ing my own site is necessary and it's a complete waste of time. I'd rather have just a few readers and hits but by people who respect me.

To my friends and readers, don't worry. I will send you the link via email so you can update your links within your blogs.

Thanks for your support guys and here's to a better and "new" MLIM!

Who are you to judge me?

Rant alert - you've been warned!

Okay, this is something that has been brewing for a few years now since I came to this country. As much as I love Australia for all the blessings it has bestowed upon me - good job, wonderful fiance, cool friends - there was one particular incident that happened to me that made me want to leave.

My first year in Australia was an educational experience for me. Not only did I started working in my first job ever, but I also had the opportunity of meeting different kinds of people. One particular woman I made friends with is a filipina who's around 12 years older than I am. I thought this woman would be an excellent friend and who will be the one to show me the ropes of how it is to live in a foreign country.

A lot of people in my workplace kept on pestering me about my lovelife. A few of them wanted to match me up with people. Silly me, I decided to create a boyfriend - you know, pretend that I have a boyfriend to shut them up kind of thing? The whole thing started actually when I decided to break it off with the idiot boyfriend I had back in Manila, but that's a completely different story.

Anyway, this same woman was friends with a woman who was friends with Arnie. She decided to introduce us and needless to say, Arnie and I hit it off. Of course, silly me, I completely forgot that I was supposed to have a boyfriend somewhere but it slipped my mind. I did not have a boyfriend to begin with so I started seeing Arnie. He knew about the fake boyfriend and actually thought it was funny. It was then that this woman decided to start spreading vicious rumours about me...

Sigurado ka ba sa babaeng yan?

Japayuki yan...

Maraming matandang hapon na pumupunta sa bahay niyan...

I don't know where the hell these comments came from, possibly from the fact that I studied in Japan as an exchange student. Now, here's my dilemma. Did these comments come from the fact that I did go to Japan and yet this person registered it in her tiny little mind that going to Japan equals working as a prostitute there? Hello? I don't get it...

I did go to Japan. I went for a cultural exchange program sponsored by De La Salle University for 3 months. I went to a school in the Kanagawa Prefecture called Minami Go Oka. I worked damn hard to get that scholarship and for some slimy woman to undermine it and make it sound salicious is just unacceptable.

I also have every reason to believe that the person responsible for filling my shoutbox with filthy comments is the same person responsible for spreading these lies. For those who haven't seen the comments, this person blatantly accused me of sleepiing with so many men in Japan when "we were there working together" and that I'm just lucky I landed Arnie. Huh - you probably did that, honey, but not me!

I just wanted to get this off my chest because I am sick and tired of being called names when I don't deserve it. Apparently, another acquaintance of ours also made a comment about how I dress thus confirming that I am a japayuki. Okay, does wearing a skirt and boots in winter scream "I'm a prostitute"? Hello? Is this person an idiot or what?

I don't know what it is about Filipinos overseas. It turns them into malicious, sniveling, little maggots hell bent on causing destruction and despair everywhere they go. Okay, I'm not saying every Filipino does this. In my experience, it's the Filipinos who are miserable with their own lives that turn into malicious, sniveling, little maggots.

If this woman comes across this blog again, here's something for you:

Arnie is out to get you, you whore. My own mother is out to get you. She says that she did not work her arse off all these years to give me a good education just to let some two-bit dumb arse ruin my name. Pray that we don't cross paths or I'll rip your eyes off from the sockets and force you to eat it! Scum like you do not deserve any mercy.

This is war. No more merciful Jennie. I've had enough...

Just getting busier by the minute...

I have three subjects this semester. I'm a masochist, sue me.

I have two assignments due next week.

I have two assignments due on Arnie's birthday.

I go to school from 1:30 - 8:30pm on Mondays.

Just found out that my department is acquiring two new clients.

I have to meet with my syndicate group every week for the next 13 weeks for our project management class.

To top that off, Melbourne is hosting the Commonwealth Games starting tomorrow, which means that traffic will be atrocious these next two weeks.

ARGH!!!

Now, I'll just have to keep on reminding myself - it's only this semester and I'll be on the home stretch...

Here's crossing my fingers so that I don't get a nervous breakdown.

My Gold Coast holiday part 3

The last day of my holiday was by far the most exciting and the most fun I have had. Arnie and I started the day off again with a hearty breakfast. This time, he was the only one who went for a swim before breakfast since I wanted to sleep in a bit.

We dressed quite lightly. I had my bathers underneath my clothes while Arnie brought his in a light carry bag. We were both quite looking forward to swimming later in the afternoon. So, off we went on the bus and headed off to Seaworld.

It was surprisingly close to Surfers Paradise. It was right along the water, next to the famed Palazzo Versace, close to the Mirage Marina, and the famous Sea World Nara Resort.

Check out the pictures below and enjoy.

Outside Seaworld

Checking out the penguins

A real life "Sirenia" otherwise known as a Dugong

At Shark Bay

Arnie at awe with the huge Bull Shark

Cool but icky looking Manta Rays lazing about under the sun

Cute polar bear enjoying some chicken

Outside Dolphin Cove

Arnie and I waiting for the Dolphin show to start

Cutie!

"We're flippin' little dolphins!"

Taken at the seal show titled "Quest for the Golden Seal"

Cute and smart creatures, seals...

After all the attractions, it's time to cool off :)

Fell in love with the Dugong that I had to get me one of these :)

The whole trip was fun. Arnie and I enjoyed it so much. We can't wait to go back. As a matter of fact, we have plans of going back for our 6th year anniversary in September! Can't wait!

Next: back to our regular programme...
