My Arnie turns 37 today...

It's my fiance's birthday today. We are off tonight to celebrate his special day with friends and family in a Spanish restaurant called De Los Santos. I can't wait!

The older Arnie gets, the more I like him. He exudes confidence, an "I don't give a fuck" attitude that a lot of men my age and younger men cannot possibly have, and an aura of a man who has experienced a lot in life - the good and the bad. He doesn't care about appearances although because of someone's meddling (ahem - ME!), he has started to care for himself more like back when he was much younger. I have learned a lot from him - how it is to be a grown-up, how it is to live your life to the fullest, and how to stand up for yourself.

He has no pretence, no bullshit, and you can trust him to be completely honest with you no matter what. I appreciate his honesty and his intelligence. He is very supportive in my endeavours. He is more than a lover to me, he is also a very good friend.

Happy birthday baby. I love you more and more each passing day. I hope you have a great birthday. Kiss, kiss :)

Wowee school stuff!

My first assignment from my Information organization class was returned to us today. Our lecturer, prior to handing it back, announced that she was very disappointed with the marks. Apparently, a lot of the students in the class got a failing mark and have to resubmit. I felt like something clogged my throat and I couldn't breathe. I seriously felt like I was one of the students who got the failing mark.

Then she handed me my paper.

I got an HD (high distinction).

Whew. I released the air in my lungs that I didn't think I was holding in. What a relief!

And I'm damn proud of myself too :)

Now I sit and wait...

The position for Process and Training Manager has been opened and I have sent my CV. My boss reckons I have it in the bag, but I am not getting my hopes up. First thing's first - the interview. If I get an interview, I'll be happy.

The application process closes on May 1 so I have a couple of weeks of sweating it out and waiting for a response from HR, whether I made the cut or not. Hopefully, I get it. As much as I love my staff, they drive me insane as well :)

Seriously, I need a different role that will challenge me in a different way. This position I have applied for will require me to travel around the country quite a lot as a matter of fact. It will also give me the opportunity to meet people from different sectors of the business in different states, some of which I have never been to before. The experience will just be wonderful.

Cross your fingers and pray for me, people! I hope I get this.

Thoughts...

I love wireless internet! I have recently acquired a router that would enable me to lug my laptop around anywhere in the house and get into the world wide weberverse. My house is now my very own internet hotspot!

Hooray for fabulous technology!

The only downside is the fact that I will no longer be sitting on my uncomfortable study chair to surf the net and will rather be in the comfort of my bed... downside is that I won't be getting any sleep!

*****

I have bought a total of 6 cd's this weekend! Aside from the 3 I bought a few days ago, I bought cd's of the Ramones, Everything But The Girl, and Tears for Fears. I spent close to $100 just on music alone! Ack!

*****

It's my dearest fiance's birthday next Monday. I already gave him his gifts - I know, I'm too excited for my own good! I got him a moss green Ralph Lauren knitted jumper for the cold months and a book called The Ultimate History of Fast Cars. Arnie is an absolute car nut! He's in heaven!

*****

I am a self-professed in-house karaoke addict. Nuts, I know. At least people here are polite and clap when I sing and not boo me out of the place! Har har har!

*****

I had an impromptu meeting with the National Operations Director of the company I work for. She told me about a new position within the company that she reckons would be up my league and would be perfect for my skills. She reckons I should go for it. It's a national position in-charge of strategic planning and training of processes within the company's in-house records management system. Fantastic opportunity, so I might just give it a go.

Crossing my fingers!

I just can't wait to get married! For the past few months, Arnie has been sleeping over my place every weekend. This easter holidays have been the longest he's stayed over. He was here for 4 days and 3 nights! He just left around 30 minutes ago because we have work tomorrow. I miss him already :(

*****

I have a whole album of Arnie's photos from back in the 80's! The hairstyles and the clothes just blows me away! It's a good laugh but he was so cute too! :)

Have I mentioned I love technology? My iPod and speakers are now a fixture in my room. I also bring it with me to work so I can have the luxury of listening to music I love and enjoy. My mum almost fainted when she found out how much it costed me. Eeep! Sorry, mum :p

I'm back

Wow. Has it been a month since I was last "seen" in the blogging world? I figured I can use the break, after all the drama that I have gone through with that stupid woman and another person whom discussed something with me about the content of my blog that I fail to understand till know why people will be offended.

Anyway, I'm back - with a new face, a new URL, and a new attitude... well, not so much new but I guess I have more of the "I don't give a fuck" attitude now. I figured that if people don't like what I write here, then they are free to leave and go to another URL. I am not tying anyone down to a chair and forcing them to read my stuff.

Other from the much needed break, I had a few things that kind of kept me preoccupied that even if I didn't take a break from blogging, I won't be able to anyway. On top of school, work, Arnie, friends, Meeko, there are a few pleasant distractions around me that is keeping me from blogging.

Here's a sneak peek of some of the things that was keeping me preoccupied, just purchased a few days ago:

I gave my old iPod mini the flick and bought this beautiful 30gb black iPod video. I also got the Logitech portable speakers with remote, the biography of the Cure called "Never Enough" and three CDs - My Way The Best of Frank Sinatra, The Very Best of Velvet Underground, and First Impressions of Earth by The Strokes.

I have been uploading my CD collection into the iPod, all of my downloaded music, converting some video to make it iPod compatible, and am already half way through the book. I think this Easter holiday for me is just going to be peachy. :)
